THE OPPORTUNITY:
We are currently seeking a Benefits Advisor to join our Human Resources team. Reporting to the Manager, Total Rewards & Corporate Governance, this role will be responsible for overseeing and communicating ARC’s benefit program, coordinating with providers, and ensuring compliance with policies and legislation. Championing ARC’s wellness initiatives, the successful candidate will have strong-relationship building skills to further support employee wellbeing.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Facilitate the administration of ARC’s benefit programs, including managing claims, coordinating with different benefit providers, and ensure compliance with policies and legislation
- Support annual rate renewal process in collaboration with external consultants, review insurer proposals, and prepare cost analyses
- Champion ARC’s mental health initiatives and coordinate wellness projects, and maintain knowledge with current trends in wellness and benefits
- Lead new hire benefits orientations through one-on-one sessions with new employees
- Coordinate the annual spending account allocation
- Present to employees any changes to the benefits plan
- Test and communicate the annual vacation purchase and payout processes
- Complete benefits cost and usage analysis to identify trends and areas of opportunity
- Complete all benefit surveys, analyzing market competitiveness and recommending any changes
- Manage all disability claims, relocations, and related policies, and ensure they are accurate and compliant
- Oversee the employee savings plan
- Conduct bi-weekly payroll reviews to identify and address discrepancies
- Identify and recommend innovative approaches, efficiencies, and improvements of systems and procedures to simplify and enhance current processes and technologies
- Maintenance of Total Rewards intranet site
- Monitor and update integrations from SuccessFactors to third-party providers, such as Manulife, Shareworks, and TELUS Health
- Provide support with Payroll and HRIS support as required
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO ARC:
- A Bachelor’s of Commerce degree with a minimum of five years of employee facing experience within a Human Resources function
- Knowledge of benefits administration and analysis
- Knowledge of SAP/SuccessFactors and the oil & gas industry is considered an asset
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and respond to changing priorities
- Sound decision making skills and proven ability to navigate complex situations
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Outstanding relationship building capability and a collaborative working style
- Ability to handle confidential information in an ethical manner
- Excellent work ethic, high level of enthusiasm and ability to excel in a flexible, fast paced environment
