THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a Commodities Marketing Summer Student to join our Marketing team. Reporting to the Manager, Market Development, the successful candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills along with a passion for learning financial markets. This position will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to develop essential business skills and enhance their technical understanding of marketing across all commodities. The work term will commence in May 2025 and last for a 4-month period. This position is based in Calgary. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide the Marketing team with weekly and monthly internal reporting for price and tolling updates, outage tracking, transportation analytics, and crude blending models 
  • Ad hoc reporting and analytics for all commodities including gas, crude, and NGLs 
  • Develop an understanding of ARC’s infrastructure downstream portfolio to assist front office Marketing Representatives with analytics and enhancing trade models 
  • Participate in the execution and management of trade confirmations 
  • Provide support for regulatory, audit, and credit requests 
  • Aid the Marketing Accounting team in invoice generation and reconciliation 
  • Provide ad hoc support and project work for the Marketing team as required 
  • Provide support in market research to aid in long-term strategy, product and market diversification, and competitor analysis 

 

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO ARC:   

  • This position is ideally suited for students entering the third or fourth year of a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Economics, or a related field and are returning to their studies in the following term  
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with an ability to enhance and maintain relationships throughout the organization 
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines 
  • Strong Office/365 skills including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; data analysis experience is considered an asset   
  • Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment  
  • High level of integrity and enthusiasm, combined with an exceptional work ethic   
  • Exposure to any marketing systems such as Eka, Egistix, or ICE NGX is extremely beneficial
