THE OPPORTUNITY:
We are currently seeking a Completions Engineer to join our Completions Operations team. As a key member of the team, the successful candidate will be responsible for technical design input and execution of completions operations. This full-time, permanent position is based in Calgary and reports to the Supervisor, Completions Engineering.

 

RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Coordinate the capital project execution for completions with the asset team to ensure wells are executed safely and efficiently, on schedule and on budget
  • Review, design, and execute completions of horizontal multi–staged hydraulic fracturing operations via plug & perf, ball drop or CT annular design (Montney formation)
  • Collaborate with Completions technical team to determine the technical suitability of proposed fracture stimulations and optimize these designs over time
  • Coordinate with Drilling and Production Operations to ensure that the well design meets the life cycle goals of the wellbore
  • Collaborate with Completions Superintendent team to promote strong safety leadership and culture for completions operations
  • Proactively stay current with industry related fracture stimulation methods, and technical advancement as they pertain to the asset base
  • Design technical completions, and fracturing programs, CWOP’s and Lookbacks
  • Coordinate operations with OSS’s (onsite supervisors) on a daily basis
  • Track capital expenditures, non-productive time/cost and collaborate with the asset team to effectively evaluate production response and identify opportunities to increase value
  • Identify new opportunities for enhancing property values through new completions technology or efficiencies in execution. 
  • Ensure continuous improvement by thoroughly understanding completion operations related key performance indicators as they relate to ARC’s goals and industry metrics (lessons learned, lookbacks)
  • Ensure regulatory requirements with respect to reporting and applications are met
  • Travel to the field will be required

 

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO ARC:

  • The candidate we seek is a professional engineer with a minimum of 5 years of industry experience, which includes at least 3 years of directly related completions experience
  • Subsurface operations experience is required
  • Knowledge of horizontal well completions in various plays, horizontal well stimulations (fracturing and acidizing), multi-stage fracturing, fracturing optimization, and concurrent pad operations
  • Proven ability to write and implement programs for subsurface operations
  • Excellent knowledge of regulatory guidelines in NEBC and Alberta for completions
  • Field experience and knowledge of field operations is a valuable asset
  • Exposure to Drilling and Production Engineering would be an asset
  • Exceptional communication and teamwork skills, and ability to effectively interact and contribute in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Demonstrated skills in leadership, project management, risk, and time management
  • Ability to manage multiple operations concurrently
