THE OPPORTUNITY: 
We are currently seeking a Data Analytics Co-op Student to join our Data Analytics team. Reporting to the Supervisor, Data Analytics, the successful candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills and a passion for learning. The work term will commence in either January or May 2025 and can be an 8, 12 or 16 month term.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Engage with a multidisciplinary team of Developers, Analysts, Engineers, and Geoscientists to perform comprehensive data analysis 
• Develop and implement analytical tools and models to derive insights that support decision-making across various projects 
• Utilize visualization tools like Spotfire and Power BI to create impactful data representations and dashboards 
• Write and optimize SQL queries and Python scripts to manipulate and analyze complex datasets 
• Demonstrate a curious mindset by exploring data to uncover trends, patterns, and stories that inform business strategies 
• Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions to learn from and contribute to the collective expertise of the team 
• Support the creation of a collaborative environment where data-driven insights lead to innovative solutions 

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO ARC:   

• This position is ideally suited for students entering the third or fourth year of a Bachelor's program in Engineering or Science and are returning to their studies in the following term 
• A keen interest in pursuing a career in the energy sector 
• Innate curiosity and the ability to narrate stories through data, demonstrating how numbers can drive business improvements and innovation 
• Collaborative spirit and the willingness to learn and grow within a team of experienced professionals 
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to approach complex challenges with a fresh perspective 
• Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to diverse audiences
