THE OPPORTUNITY: 

We are currently seeking a Data Services Co-op Student to join our Data Analytics team. Reporting to the Supervisor, Data Services, the successful candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills, a passion for learning, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. This 12-month work term will commence in May 2027 and is based in Calgary.    

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Work with the business and Data Services team members to collect, document, and analyze requirements for new solutions 

  • Develop data solutions in Databricks to enable improvements in either business or internal team processes 

  • Learn and implement established development patterns and best practices 

  • Participate in the code review process to gather feedback and improve solutions being developed 

  • Learn and work within the established development lifecycle to develop and deploy production ready code 

  • Document solutions to enable successful support and maintenance 

 

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO ARC  

  • The position is ideally suited for students currently in their second or third year of a Bachelor’s program in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Technology Management, or a related field and are returning to school the following term 

  • Strong passion for data and development with languages such as Python and SQL 

  • Familiarity and curiosity with emerging cloud platforms (Azure, AWS & GCP)    

  • Experience in building data visualization dashboards    

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to approach complex challenges with a fresh perspective
