Data and Reporting Support Analyst (12-month contract)

THE OPPORTUNITY:  
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data and Reporting Support Analyst for a 12-month term to join our Data Analytics, Enablement and Reporting team at ARC. This role combines analytical expertise with the ability to communicate and teach, supporting data-driven decision-making across the organization.  In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and enhancements of reports in applications like Power BI, Spotfire and Databricks providing valuable data-driven insights into different areas of our business. This role will also be key in supporting the expansion of our reporting capabilities and fostering a data-driven culture across the organization; and will directly support the ARC's Enablement and Reporting team by delivering high-quality reporting solutions and analytics support.   

RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Report Support and Maintenance

• Maintain and enhance existing reports in applications like Power BI, Spotfire, Databricks or SAP Analytics Cloud to support the diverse needs of different business units 
• Troubleshoot and resolve data/reporting issues such as refresh failures, ensuring reports are up to date, accurate, and optimized for performance 
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to report models, including troubleshooting data model performance and integrity problems 
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to identify root causes of model-related issues and implement effective solutions 

Mentorship & Coaching

• Mentor and support citizen developers across various departments, providing guidance and training on report development and data analysis best practices 
• Empower staff to build their own data-driven insights by offering continuous learning opportunities and building a robust support network within the organization 

Collaboration & Cross-functional Support

• Work closely with IT teams, business analysts, and data teams to ensure seamless integration of data sources, accurate data modeling, and effective reporting solutions 
• Provide technical expertise and advice to leadership on best practices for using data to drive decision-making and business improvement 

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in Power BI, Spotfire, DAX, Azure, and data analytics to bring fresh ideas and innovative solutions to the organization 
• Implement new features and tools that enhance the organization’s analytics capabilities and improve the user experience with reporting tools 
• Identify areas for improvement in the reporting process, suggest and implement enhancements that optimize workflows, reduce errors, and increase efficiency 

Data Analysis and Reporting

• Create visually appealing and interactive dashboards and reports to communicate key insights effectively 
• Analyze complex datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and opportunities for business improvement 
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data needs and translate business requirements into technical specifications 

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO ARC: 

• The successful candidate will have a Degree or Diploma in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science or a related field, in addition to 5 years of oil and gas experience with a focus in data analytics, modelling, reporting and visualization 
• Proficiency in Power BI, Spotfire, and Databricks, as well as SQL and Python or other applicable languages 
• Familiar with applications such as Tabular Editor, SSMS, DAX Studio, Bravo 
• Familiar with PowerApps, Power Automate and Agile process and tools like DevOps 
• Knowledge of data governance principles and best practices 
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences 
• Strong project management and organizational skills combined with analytical thinking and attention to detail 
• Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams 
• Curiosity and eagerness to stay updated with the latest data analysis trends and technologies 
• Adaptability to changing business needs and data environments 
• Knowledge of SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) is an asset
