THE OPPORTUNITY:
We are currently seeking an Enablement and Reporting Summer Student to join our Data Analytics team. Reporting to the Supervisor, Enablement and Reporting, the successful candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills, a passion for data visualization and reporting, and a desire to learn how data supports business decision-making.
In this role, you will work closely with the Enablement and Reporting team to support reporting initiatives, develop dashboards, create meaningful performance metrics, and help communicate insights across the business. This position offers hands-on experience with business reporting, KPI development, data visualization, stakeholder engagement, and the adoption of data-driven solutions while building practical skills in tools such as Power BI, Spotfire and Databricks. This 4-month work term will commence in May 2027 and is based in Calgary.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Collaborate with Enablement and Reporting (E&R) team by participating in training and mentorship to build skills in reporting, data tools (e.g., Power BI, Spotfire, Databricks), and data storytelling

Gather and interpret business needs by working with the teams to understand reporting requirements and translate them into KPIs and metrics

Design and build dashboards by creating clear and accurate dashboards that track performance and support business insights

Leverage Databricks tools and resources for sourcing data, building queries for dashboards, and utilizing AI tools for deeper analysis and reporting

Support KPI development by defining, documenting, and refining meaningful KPIs aligned with team objectives

Ensure accuracy and integrity in the data used for reporting and follow best practices for data management to maintain data quality and consistency

Keep clear records of data sources, definitions, and report logic for future reference

Learn and adapt continuously by staying curious and proactive in improving reporting skills and exploring new tools or techniques
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO ARC:

This position is ideally suited for students currently in their second or third year of a Bachelor's program in Computer Science, Business Technology Management or other data related programs and returning to their studies in the following term

Possess strong analytical thinking skills to interpret data, identify trends, and draw meaningful insights

Detail-oriented mindset to ensure accuracy in data, reporting, and documentation

Strong communication skills to comfortably translate technical data into clear, business-friendly language

Familiarity with data tools such as Power BI, Excel, or other reporting and visualization tools is an asset

Experience in querying databases, data warehouses, and/or data lakes using SQL is an asset
