THE OPPORTUNITY:
We are currently seeking an Environmental Engineering Summer Student to join our Environment Engineering team. The work term will commence in May 2026 and last for a 4-month period. This position is based in Calgary with possible travel to field locations on occasion. This dynamic position will provide the successful candidate with an excellent opportunity to continue to learn about the western Canadian oil & gas industry as well as further develop their petroleum engineering skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist team with identification, scoping, reviewing, and execution of emission reduction projects
- Assist team with project funding submissions and reporting requirements, including emissions quantification
- Contribute towards the development of data analytic projects
- Develop dashboards and presentations on a variety of datasets and topics
- Support evaluation of innovative GHG emissions technologies
- Support inventory compilation to support ARC’s emissions quantification processes including equipment inventories, production accounting data, etc.
- Travel to ARC’s field locations as required
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO ARC:
- This position is ideally suited for studnets in a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a focus in Mechanical, Petroleum, or Chemical, who are returning to their studies in the fall of 2026 as a third or fourth year student
- Experience with leading and contributing to technical projects, including scheduling, delegation, and management of activities
- Strong computer and data analysis skills are considered an asset
- Intermediate MS Office/365 skills including Excel, Word and PowerPoint and prior experience with industry related software and visualization tools such as Power BI is considered an asset
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills and can develop positive working relationships with all levels of the organization
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities at the same time in a dynamic environment
- Petroleum industry related experience will be considered an asset
