THE OPPORTUNITY

We are currently seeking two Geology Summer Students for a 4-month term beginning in May 2026. The successful candidates will have strong analytical and communication skills along with a passion for learning.  We are seeking self-starters with exceptional interpersonal skills. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

This will be a project-based work term where the successful candidates will collaborate with Senior Geologists and Geophysicists on one or more projects that entail various tasks including: 

  • Evaluate oil and gas potential in a designated area
  • Analyze and integrate wireline logs, drill cuttings, production and engineering data
  • Identify type logs, picking tops, and mapping stratigraphic units
  • Compile and map available area well data to provide structural, isopach and pay map interpretations
  • Identify production profiles, drainage bubbles, and defining gas/oil and oil/water contacts
  • Work on base mapping for potential horizontal gas well targets
  • Assess and develop 3D subsurface models to enhance reservoir characterization
  • Analyze available core samples 

 

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO ARC:   

  • The position is ideally suited for students entering the second, third or fourth year of a Bachelor’s program in Geosciences and are returning to school the following term
  • A keen interest in pursuing a career in the energy sector 
  • Motivated self-starter with strong organizational and communication skills
  • Related experience, a strong desire to learn, along with intermediate computer skills are considered assets
  • Ability to work independently within a team environment
