THE OPPORTUNITY:
We are currently seeking an Information Management Summer Student to join our Information Management team. Reporting to the Supervisor, Information Management, the successful candidate will have strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, along with a desire to learn about information management, data governance, analytics, and business processes within the energy industry. This role offers exposure to a variety of projects and initiatives that support the management, quality, accessibility, and effective use of information and data across the organization. This 4-month work term will commence in May 2027 and is based in Calgary.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support the Information Management team with a variety of initiatives related to information management, data analytics, data governance, and continuous improvement

Assist with projects involving data quality, data cleanup, data organization, and information stewardship across the business

Contribute to analytics and reporting initiatives, including the development and refinement of KPIs, metrics, dashboards, and other tools that support business insights and performance monitoring

Support the development, maintenance, and documentation of team processes, procedures, metrics, and reporting requirements

Participate in projects related to business process improvements, including support for ongoing organizational initiatives

Assist with data governance activities, including maintaining data standards, documentation, and best practices

Provide administrative and operational support to the Information Management team, including coverage for routine daily activities and ongoing team priorities when required

Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to gather information, understand business needs, and support project objectives

Maintain accurate records and documentation to ensure consistency, accessibility, and knowledge sharing

Demonstrate a willingness to learn new technologies, tools, and business processes while contributing to a collaborative team environment
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO ARC:

This position is ideally suited for a student currently in their second or third year of a Bachelor's program in Computer Science or Business Technology Management, or enrolled in a Master of Library and Information Studies, or related program (MLIS, MIM, MAS, MI), and returning to their studies in the following term

Possess strong analytical thinking skills to interpret data, identify trends, and draw meaningful insights

Detail-oriented mindset to ensure accuracy in data, reporting, and documentation

Strong communication skills to comfortably translate technical data into clear, business-friendly language

Familiarity with data analysis, reporting, information management, or visualization tools such as Power BI, Excel, SharePoint, or similar platforms is an asset.

Experience in querying databases, data warehouses, and/or data lakes using SQL is an asset
