THE OPPORTUNITY:
We are currently seeking a Report Developer for a 12-month term to play an integral role in building dashboards and reports within tools like Power BI and Spotfire to allow business users better visibility into their data for analysis and business decision support. A successful candidate will love taking a request from the business and utilizing data to tell a story. Also, a passion to understand business opportunities that will allow the candidate to empower our stakeholders to access and analyze data providing a simple path to data driven business decisions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, build, test, and deploy dashboards in Power BI mostly or Spotfire
- Build data models with adherence to strong best practices and methodologies
- Understand business requirements in the BI context and design data models to change raw data into meaningful insights
- Analyze the current ETL process to understand transformations and business logic
- Develop reports with user experience in mind; representing the information with the best visualizations leveraging the latest techniques to increase activity
- Develop and update technical documentation
- Provide feedback and enhancement opportunities to BI Data Services team
- Adhere to development standards and protocols used at ARC, including data governance, change management, peer reviews and documentation
- Liaise directly with the business to collect, document, and analyze user requirements and map those business requirements to technical artifacts
WHAT WILL YOU BRING TO ARC:
- Degree or diploma in Data Analytics, Information Technology, or any IT or Business-related discipline, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in developing dashboards and reports through tools like Power BI
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the energy sector with a strong understanding of business requirements to translate into report development
- Strong experience in querying databases, data warehouses, or data lakes using SQL
- Experience designing and developing efficient and effective dashboard and reports using data visualization best practices
- Passion and excitement to try new techniques in visualization and storytelling with data
- Works independently as well as in a team-oriented environment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that requires flexibility and balancing of competing priorities
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including ability to communicate complex technical descriptions in terms the business can understand
- Ability to deal with situations, people and problems ethically, with honesty and integrity
- Experience with major oil and gas application such as WellView, ProdView, Mosaic, SAP, etc.
