THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking an Administrator to join our Safety team for a 6-month term to play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our safety programs and initiatives. We're looking for a detail-oriented administrative professional who can manage various safety systems, coordinate training activities, and support our commitment to maintaining a safe work environment. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Administer, maintain, and provide support for ARC's safety systems and software solutions including:
    • Learning Management System (SAP)
    • ARC Integrated Management System (AIMS)
    • Prescription Eyewear Program (EyeSafe)
    • Incident Management Platform (Intelex)
    • Contractor Prequalification (ISNetworld)
    • Chemical Management Program (sdsBinders)
    • Occupational Testing Provider (SureHire)
  • Coordinate both in-house and third-party safety training programs
  • Oversee the tracking, verification, and assignment of internal and external safety training sessions
  • Support new hire safety system training initiatives
  • Assist in the administration, proofing, and delivery of safety team reports and communications
  • Manage safety-specific content on ARC’s external website, intranet, and SharePoint sites
  • Coordinate safety team meetings and corporate internal/external safety engagements, such as workshops, program rollouts, and Teams live events
  • Collaborate with key vendors to procure safety team supplies and materials
  • Monitor safety team email inboxes, handling inquiries or distributing them to the appropriate personnel
  • Coordinate the Calgary office Joint Health & Safety Committee and associated meetings 

 

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO ARC
The ideal candidate should possess at least 2 years of administrative experience and have an interest in safety. Recent graduates with directly related experience gained through co-op or summer terms may be considered. The successful candidate will also possess the following key attributes:

  • Proficiency in managing and supporting various systems and software solutions and applications
  • Ability to coordinate and facilitate safety training sessions and meetings
  • Familiarity with safety regulations, standards, and best practices, or a williness to learn
  • Experience in managing content on digital platforms including websites, intranet, and SharePoint
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a dynamic environment  
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and can develop positive working relationships with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong MS Office/365 skills including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision, promote continuous improvement and enjoy working in a team environment
  • Experience working in a safety related position or knowledge of occupational health and safety is a definite asset
