THE OPPORTUNITY:
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and organized Senior Logistics Coordinator for a 12-month contract to join our growing team. Reporting to the Manager, Supply Chain Management, the successful candidate will coordinate the supply and delivery of frac proppant across ARC’s supply chain. This will include managing rail and trucking logistics, inventory management, and other logistics processes to ensure safe and efficient operations. You will collaborate with various ARC teams and suppliers including Development and Completions Engineering, CN Rail, and last mile trucking suppliers to ensure product availability and delivery. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of proppant, rail logistics and transloading concepts with exceptional communication skills. This is a contract role with the possibility of becoming a permanent position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Rail Logistics (Mine to Transload)

Coordinate rail logistics from proppant mines in the USA and Canada to transload locations in northern Alberta

Work with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and efficient transload processes

Scheduling, coordination and communication of inbound unit train deliveries to the transload

Works closely with CN Rail to ensure rail shipments are delivered on schedule

Monitor and track proppant shipments to ensure adherence to delivery schedules and quality standards
Last Mile Logistics (Transload to Well Site)

Coordinate last mile logistics from transload to wellsite to ensure timely delivery of proppant according to ARC’s frac schedule

Schedule and coordinate all individual truck arrivals at transload and deliveries at the wellsite

Create, maintain and communicate load tender list to transload

Collaborate with transportation providers to arrange efficient and cost-effective logistics solutions

Communicate road conditions, road use agreements and road hazards with Project Managers, Onsite Supervisors and suppliers to ensure efficient delivery of proppant
On-site Proppant Storage

Coordinate onsite proppant storage requirements with Project Managers and suppliers

Ensure delivery and set up, including pad to pad transitions, are in accordance with the operational schedule
Inventory Management

Manage, monitor, and optimize proppant inventory levels to meet operational demands

Manage material transfers, proppant reconciliation, accounting accuracy, daily tickets match and forecasting
Cost Control and Contractor Management

Review and communicate logistical costs for each pad with Superintendent and Completions Project Managers

Complete post pad lookbacks on trucking, fuel efficiencies and onsite storage performance

Conduct quarterly lookbacks with suppliers to evaluate performance, HSE and analyze costs

Track and manage various metrics, including fuel usage, proppant waste, last mile trucks, rail, daily proppant usage

Be an active team member for RFP’s related to proppant, last mile logistics and proppant storage

Communicate daily with Project Managers, rail network, transload, last mile logistics suppliers and ARC Operations Planning team
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO ARC:

A minimum of 10 years of experience in the field of logistics, with experience in the oil and gas industry being an asset

In-depth knowledge of and experience in coordinating rail freight, specifically proppant
-
Experience working with external organizations such as a rail transloading facility and CN Rail to manage shipments

Involvement in last-mile logistics

Exceptional organizational, analytical and time management skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability in building collaborative relationships

Certified in TDG, WHMIS, and SDS; and familiar with Canadian trucking regulations
