THE OPPORTUNITY:
We are currently seeking a Senior Operations Management System Advisor to join our OMS, Safety Programs and Regulatory team. The ideal candidate is a self‑starter with strong interpersonal skills who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about advancing operational excellence.
This individual will play a key part in strengthening the safe, efficient, and reliable execution of ARC’s operations through the ongoing evolution of ARC’s Integrated Management System (AIMS). As a trusted advisor, the individual will work closely with Operations, discipline teams, and leadership to connect system intent with field execution to reinforce system ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement across the business.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the implementation, sustainment, and continuous improvement of ARC’s Integrated Management System (AIMS) to support operational excellence, risk reduction, and compliance with internal and external requirements
- Integrate AIMS into core operational processes, including planning, execution, assurance, and performance reporting, to ensure consistent application across operations
- Serve as a key liaison across operations, facilitating documented process alignment, resolving cross‑functional gaps, and coordinating AIMS-related initiatives
- Provide senior-level subject matter expertise to operational teams and leaders by developing and maintaining practices, procedures, and tools aligned with AIMS Elements, regulatory requirements, and operational risk profiles
- Support AIMS assurance activities, ensuring findings, trends, and insights are translated into sustainable system and performance improvements
- Develop, maintain, and enhance AIMS performance dashboards and reporting, incorporating leading and lagging indicators to provide actionable insights to senior leadership and executives
- Support AIMS governance processes, including quarterly performance reviews and the annual Management System Review to inform oversight and decision‑making regarding continuous improvement initiatives
- Coordinate Annual Element Gap Closure Plans, including defining actions, supporting subject matter experts, monitoring progress, and addressing barriers to execution
- Support AIMS training, communication, and awareness initiatives, including learning management system integration and role‑based training, to strengthen system understanding and ownership
- Establish, maintain, and continuously improve AIMS tools and enable systems, including SharePoint, PowerApps, and document management processes
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory developments, and best practices in operations management systems to identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO ARC:
- University degree in engineering, sciences, safety, business operations, or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, including at least 5 years of experience developing, implementing, and sustaining operations management systems
- In‑depth working knowledge of operational management system processes, including Personal and Process Safety Management, Risk Management, Environmental Management, Regulatory Compliance, Management of Change/Organizational Change Management, Training and Competency, Contractor Management, and Operational Assurance
- Working knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements and oversight bodies, including the CER, AER, BCER, ABSA, Alberta OHS, Technical Safety BC, and WorkSafe BC
- Familiarity with recognized OMS standards and guidelines from organizations such as ISO, OGP, IPIECA, IOGP, and IEA
- Demonstrated ability to lead organizational change, manage projects, and implement processes across diverse operational environments and technical disciplines
- Proven ability to effectively present, advise, and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including senior leadership
- Demonstrated technical writing skills, with the ability to translate complex requirements into clear, practical guidance
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities, with keen attention to detail
- Exceptional leadership, communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Field experience within operational environments is considered an asset
