THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are currently seeking a Senior Regulatory Advisor/Specialist to join our OMS, Safety Programs and Regulatory team. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with exceptional interpersonal skills who thrives in a team environment.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide senior-level regulatory interpretation and advisory support for Alberta and British Columbia operations
  • Develop and recommend regulatory management and compliance strategies for routine and non-routine operating scenarios
  • Support front-end regulatory planning for projects and operational changes by identifying regulatory risks, constraints, and approval dependencies
  • Lead and support direct engagement with regulators (e.g., AER, BCER) including advocacy, technical discussions, approvals, variances, and compliance management.
  • Advise on regulatory compliance matters, including mitigation planning and regulator engagement.
  • Support regulatory education and awareness across internal teams by translating regulatory requirements into practical, operationally relevant guidance.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Safety, Environment, and Government Relations teams to ensure consistent interpretation, communication and execution of regulatory requirements

 

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO ARC:  

  • University degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Public Policy, or related discipline is preferred; a master's degree is considered an asset
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a comparable role in the energy sector
  • Strong working knowledge of Alberta, British Columbia and/or Federal regulatory frameworks, approvals, and compliance requirements
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying regulatory requirements to operational or project scenarios
  • Proven experience engaging directly with regulators or regulated parties on approvals, compliance matters, or operational constraints
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities to build and maintain relationships across the business and within industry
  • Keen attention to detail with an analytical approach
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required
