THE OPPORTUNITY

We are currently seeing a Senior Training Advisor to join our Safety Training and Competency team. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with excellent interpersonal and computer skills who works well in both teams and independent environments. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the development of training programs and resources to build safety, technical and leadership skills with operations SME’s
  • Monitor training effectiveness and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
  • As required, develop business cases for proposed new training programs to demonstrate alignment to required competencies or regulatory requirements
  • Support curriculum design, development and delivery of training with Operations Subject Matter Experts
  • Identify outdated training materials and provide feedback to SME or complete updates as appropriate
  • Evaluate external training when proposed to ensure it meets the needs of ARC 

 

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO ARC:   

  • A minimum of ten years of experience in an adult education or training development role
  • Experience working in the energy, oil and gas, mining, or petrochemical industry is considered an asset
  • Familiar with adult education principles and comfortable integrating these into industry training courses
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), preferably SAP SuccessFactors 
  • Competency in the creation and modification of SCORM-based training programs
  • Ability to create training content across a wide variety of topics, given the content, outcomes and training preferences and access to Subject Matter Experts 
  • Able to review training requirements and make recommendations as to the type of training required, duration of training and development and implementation time requirements
  • Familiar with and able to interpret training related requirements from legislation and confirm that existing, proposed and designed training meets minimum requirements and organizational needs
  • Coaching, mentoring, training and facilitation skills supporting content and training development activities
  • Ability to work with a diverse team in a fast-paced environment or independently
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to foster relationships/partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
