THE OPPORTUNITY
We are currently seeking a full-time permanent Field Operator based at our Tower site in Northeast British Columbia. This role will report to the Foreman within the Field Operations group. The successful candidate will utilize their previous field operations experience to ensure safe and efficient operations, work cross functionally across departments, and evaluate processes to ensure optimal throughput.  

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the safe and efficient operations of and routine maintenance of high-pressure gas wells and gathering systems  
  • Monitor the field to ensure production and reliability meet targets and provide effective troubleshooting as required 
  • Assess and evaluate process conditions to achieve optimum throughput 
  • Work cross functionally with the construction and maintenance teams and collaborate to optimize production and make changes in the field  
  • Assist in Pad commissioning and turnaround planning and perform minor maintenance and plant housekeeping as required 
  • Monitor SCADA for any changes and complete production reports accurately and in a timely manner 
  • Identify hazards and effectively communicate with team members 
  • Respond to on-call operational duties and emergency situations and follow the site’s emergency response plan  
  • Follow and apply the site’s safe work procedures and the requirements of WHMIS, ABSA, and ASME codes as required 
  • Champion ARC’s culture of safety by abiding by ARC’s safety standards and reporting 

 

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO ARC

  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of field operating experience in the oil and gas industry 
  • Thorough understanding of gas and liquid processes, with experience working in a high-pressure gas processing field 
  • Experience with dehydration equipment, transfer pumps, plunger lifts, compression, and condensate stabilization is an asset 
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, computer literacy and knowledge of automated operations systems  
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to process changes and modifications 
  • Excellent communication with strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills 
  • Current certification in H2S alive, First Aid, WHIMIS, and TDG is preferred 
  • Capability to operate UTV and Snowmobile 
  • Must be available to work a 10 hour shift and a night shift periodically  
  • Ability to work overtime and respond off hours as part of an “On Call” rotation 
  • Must currently reside in the Dawson Creek or Fort St. John area

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • The shift schedule for this role is an 8 days on, 6 days off rotation working 10 hours per day, working days. 

  • As this role is considered safety sensitive, the preferred candidate will be required to successfully complete drug and alcohol testing, and a fitness to work test. 

 

The base wage range for this position is $36.00 CAD to $57.00 CAD. The posted wage range is reflective of the qualifications associated with this specific advertisement. Exact salary/wage may vary based on qualifications, experience and skillset. Additionally, all permanent employees are eligible to participate in ARC’s competitive bonus, long-term incentive, savings plan, and benefits programs.
