THE OPPORTUNITY
We are currently seeking a Senior Operations Engineer to work in our Production Engineering department. This is a dynamic full-time permanent position based in Grande Prairie. Reporting to the Manager, Production Engineering, this individual will contribute to management of change projects and the execution of facilities projects following applicable regulatory legislation, CSA standards, and accepted industry codes of practice. Additionally, the individual will have the proven ability to handle multiple projects within the company while collaborating across departments. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with departments such as Field Operations to identify inefficiencies and develop solutions 
  • Ensure OGC and AER technical compliance on all ARC facility designs, as well as adherence to sound engineering practices 
  • Manage the maintenance capital budget including project justifications, planning and execution, spend forecasting, and project close out 
  • Understand regulatory changes, and implement projects to maintain compliance 
  • Liase with asset teams to develop and maintain budgets throughout the year 
  • Conduct risk assessments of facility projects and implement changes to reduce risks to ARC’s operations 
  • Manage engineering consultants, construction supervisors and internal groups to safely and cost-effectively execute assigned projects 
  • Assist with the development of internal procedures and processes to further improve the delivery of ARC’s management of change project execution 

 
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO ARC:   

  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with a minimum of 7 years of facility engineering experience in the oil and gas industry, preferably with a producer company 
  • Well-rounded and extensive knowledge of oil & gas production operations 
  • Exceptional project management skills including scope development, execution, cost control, and safety 
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant OGC, AER, CSA, ABSA, and other applicable technical regulations and standards 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills  
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects effectively, prioritize activities, and work in a team-based environment to achieve desired results 
  • Excellent computer and analytical ability
  • Leadership experience will be considered an asset
