THE OPPORTUNITY:
We are currently seeking a Field Operations Engineering Summer Student for a 4-month term to work with our Operations Engineering team. This position is based in the Grand Prairie office with regular travel to the field in the liquids-rich Kakwa region located in northwest Alberta. The wells and facilities are located approximately 100 kilometers south of Grande Prairie, Alberta along Highway 40, consisting of five main gas plants across the Montney asset. The successful candidate must currently reside in the greater Grand Prairie area.
This position reports to the Supervisor, Operations Engineering, and requires an organized, detail oriented and motivated individual who is ready to work in a fast-paced environment and take on new challenges. The role involves working alongside team members with extensive and diverse experience within Operations Engineering.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with ad hoc projects for Project Managers and MOC projects assigned by Operations Engineers
- Gather data from superpads and plants in support of troubleshooting and project development
- Gather combustion data, identify opportunities for efficiency, and support economic justification of projects
- Perform emission inventory audits and develop projects to mitigate these emissions
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO ARC:
- The position is ideally suited for a student currently in their second, third, or fourth year of a Bachelor’s program in Engineering, and are returning to their studies the following term
- Valid Class 5 license and experience driving on rural roads
- Capability and willingness to go to the field
- Excellent communication and strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
- Motivated and enthusiastic team player with a strong work ethic
- Possess a strong commitment to safety
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to process changes and modifications
- Must currently reside in the greater Grande Prairie area
